I was born in Houston and grew up in Magnolia, Texas.  In 1991, I enlisted in the US Army and served two years in Bavaria, Germany, a truly beautiful place.  It was exciting to live in a different country and learn a new language.

In 1994, I moved to New York City and attended the School of Visual Arts and Art Students League.  New York was SO much fun!  I loved loved loved the art community!  My favorite place was the MET.  In 2001, I earned my Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Cartooning and Illustration.  Also, I worked in children's merchandising drawing Eloise, Teletubbies, Noddy, Huggy Buggy and Animal Shelf.  What a cool experience!

I enjoyed New York, but missed Texas and my family.  So I moved to Conroe.  Shortly afterwards, I went back to New York, married my girlfriend and brought her down to Texas.  We have a son, Arturo, and two daughters, Máya and Marisol.  They love to play with our little dog, Chocolate.

Allison, my wife, teaches 2nd grade dual language at Montgomery Elementary School.
I have worked in the Conroe ISD since 2001.  I started out as a substitute teacher, then became a paraprofessional.  Finally, I earned my Certification to teach Art, Early Childhood to 12th grade.
This is my tenth year teaching and I LOVE it!
